Powerflushing FAQs
A Powerflush is a procedure used to clean and maintain central heating systems, particularly those that use water-based heating methods such as boilers. Over time, sludge, rust, and other debris can accumulate within the pipes, radiators, and boiler of a heating system. This buildup can hinder the efficiency of the system, leading to reduced heating performance, higher energy bills, and potential damage to components.
Determining if your radiators require a power flush involves observing several common indicators:
Cold spots: If certain areas of your radiators are consistently colder than others, it could indicate a build-up of sludge or debris preventing the proper circulation of hot water.
Inefficient heating: If your radiators take a long time to heat up or don't get as warm as they used to, it may be due to blockages hindering the flow of hot water through the system.
Noises: Unusual sounds such as banging, gurgling, or rumbling coming from your radiators may suggest the presence of air pockets or blockages caused by sludge or debris.
Discolored water: When bleeding your radiators, if the water that comes out is discoloured, cloudy, or contains rust particles, it indicates the presence of sludge and debris in the system.
Frequent bleeding required: If you find yourself needing to bleed your radiators frequently to remove trapped air, it may be a sign that there are blockages in the system causing air pockets to form.
Increased energy bills: A central heating system with blocked or inefficient radiators may require more energy to operate, resulting in higher heating bills.
If you notice any of these signs, it's a good idea to contact our qualified heating engineers to assess your radiators and determine if a power flush is necessary. They can perform a thorough inspection and recommend the appropriate course of action to improve the efficiency and performance of your heating system.

Heat Pump FAQs
An air source heat pump (ASHP) is a type of heating and cooling system that transfers heat between the inside of a building and the outside air. It works by extracting heat from the outside air (even in cold temperatures) and transferring it indoors to heat a building.
Air source heat pumps typically have a lifespan of 20 years or more. Due to their relatively simple and reliable technology, heat pumps generally require minimal maintenance, although it's advisable to have an annual service.
While it's possible to mount an air source heat pump on a wall as long as it remains easily accessible for maintenance by an engineer, for optimal performance and reduced operational noise, we recommend installing it at ground level.
